What is SAP Probation?
SAP Appeal Probation is assigned to students who submit a SAP Appeal and it is approved. While on probation, the student financial aid is reinstated as long as students continue to meet all the conditions of the academic plan submitted with the appeal.
What are the conditions of SAP Probation?
Students on SAP probation are placed on an academic plan and must meet the following conditions each term:
- Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA each term.
- Complete a minimum of 67% of units enrolled in with a passing grade (ex. P, A, B, C, D)
- Only enroll in the classes that are listed on the Student Educational Plan (SEP) that was submitted with the SAP appeal which counts towards your major/program of study.
How often is probation reviewed?
SAP Probation is reviewed by the SAP Appeal Committee at the end of every term (fall, spring, and summer). Students who meet the conditions of their academic plan will continue to be placed on probation until either they complete their program or begin to meet the SAP Standards.
What happens if a student fails to meet the conditions of the appeal?
Students who fail to meet the conditions of the appeal will be terminated. Once terminated, students will be disqualified from receiving most forms of financial aid. Note, California College Promise Grant (CCPG) has different eligibility criteria and in most cases may continue to be eligible for this grant.
