Where can I view my Cost of Attendance (COA)?
If you have submitted a financial aid application, you can view your cost of attendance by viewing your Financial Aid Dashboard and clicking on the "Award Offer" tab. If you haven't submitted an application, you can view the cost of attendance below.
What is the COA?
COA is the amount that it will cost you to go to Citrus College for an academic year and will be used to determine your "Financial Need". If you’re attending Citrus College at least half-time, the COA is the estimate of tuition and fees, cost of living expenses (Food and Housing), cost of books, supplies, transportation, loan fees, and miscellaneous expenses. The COA includes estimated direct billed costs (tuition and fees) and the estimated indirect costs (room and board, books and supplies, transportation, miscellaneous).
How is Financial Need Calculated?
Cost of Attendance minus Student Aid Index (SAI) = Financial Need
How is Financial Need used to determine my financial aid eligibility?
Once you meet all the eligibility requirements for financial aid, the Financial Aid Department will determine how much financial aid you are eligible to receive, based on your financial need and the availability of funds.
Can I receive more aid than my Financial Need?
No. Students cannot receive more need-based financial aid than their calculated Financial Need. If the total amount of need-based grants, scholarships, and other aid offered exceeds your financial need, some awards may be reduced or canceled.
For example, if you are awarded a need-based scholarship by a program on campus, and your financial need has already been fully met through other sources (such as the Pell Grant or Cal Grant), you may no longer be eligible to receive that scholarship.
This is why all institutional and program-level awards must be coordinated through the Financial Aid Department—to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and to avoid over-awarding.

Student Parent Budgets
Student Parent cost of attendance budgets are available for students who provide more than half of the financial support for their child or children and expect to pay out-of-pocket child care expenses while attending college. These expenses may include child care needed to attend class, study, participate in required fieldwork, internships, or clinicals, and commute to and from those activities.
Student parents may report these expenses through the annual Required Questions on their Financial Aid Dashboard. This simplified process allows the Financial Aid Department to review student parent child care expenses.
Students with actual education-related expenses that exceed the estimated budget may also submit a Cost of Attendance (COA) Appeal for additional review.

Cost of Attendance (COA) Appeal
If your actual education-related expenses exceed the estimated budgets listed above, you may be eligible to submit a Cost of Attendance (COA) Appeal. This appeal allows the Financial Aid Department to review certain additional expenses, such as dependent care, housing, transportation, technology, or other allowable educational costs.
For detailed information about eligibility, allowable expenses, and how to submit a COA Appeal, please review the Cost of Attendance (COA) Appeal article.
