General Qualifications for CCPG
To qualify for the California College Promise Grant (CCPG), you must meet the following requirements:
- Be a California resident or an AB 540 student
- Meet the eligibility requirements for Method A, B, or C
- Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), California Dream Act Application (CADAA), or CCPG Application
- Meet academic and progress standards

California College Promise Grant A
Eligibility
You or your family receives one of the following types of aid:
- public assistance from the Aid to Families with Dependent Children
- Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (AFDC/TANF/CalWORKs)
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- General Assistance/General Relief
To receive a CCPG-A, you are required to verify benefits, dated within 60 days of the FAFSA, CADAA, or CCPG application date.
Special Classifications
- have certification from the California Department of Veterans Affairs or the National Guard
- are a Dependent of or a Recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor
- are a Dependent of a Victim of the September 11, 2001, Terrorist Attack
- The surviving spouse or child was a resident of California during the COVID-19 pandemic state of emergency. Documentation that the student's household annual income (including the parent's income for dependent students) does not exceed the maximum Cal Grant A income and asset ceilings.

Requirements
You have completed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act Application (CADAA), are enrolled, and are determined to have a minimum financial need of at least 1,104.
