The CVC-OEI is a partnership among California community colleges that makes it easier for you to take fully online courses at other participating colleges. This means if a required course isn’t available at Citrus College, you can cross-enroll at another college and stay on track to meet your academic goals. For additional information, please visit the Citrus College CVC-OEI page.
How Does It Work at Citrus College?
It depends on whether Citrus College is your Home College or your Teaching College.
Home College: If Citrus College is your Home College, it is the institution where you are pursuing your degree or certificate. It is responsible for:
- Determining your eligibility for financial aid including Federal Pell Grant, Cal Grants, and Student Success Completion Grants.
- Awarding and disbursing your financial aid.
- Tracking your academic progress toward your degree or certificate.
- Monitoring your Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) to ensure you remain eligible for financial aid.
Teaching College: If you are cross-enrolled in a course at Citrus College through the CVC-OEI, then Citrus serves as your Teaching College for that course. It is responsible for:
- Enrollment Support: Creating an abbreviated enrollment record for you in our system.
- Course Information: Offering details about available courses and registration requirements.
- Prerequisite Checks: Verifying your eligibility for courses with prerequisites by reviewing transcripts when needed.
Need Help Paying for Cross-Enrolled Courses?
California College Promise Grant (CCPG)
If you’re enrolling in a Citrus College course through the CVC-OEI and want to apply for the California College Promise Grant (CCPG) tuition waiver, you’ll need to submit:
- An online CCPG Application, OR
- A Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CADAA).
If you're a Citrus College student enrolling at another college through CVC-OEI, the process is the same. You'll need to submit a CCPG/FAFSA/CADAA application to the teaching college.
Financial Aid with the CVC-OEI Consortium Agreement
The CVC-OEI makes it easy to apply your financial aid to cross-enrolled courses:

-
Enrollment Requirements: To qualify, you must:
- Be enrolled in at least 6 units at Citrus College.
- Submit your transcript with final grades from the other college(s) to Citrus College’s Admissions & Records Office by the following deadlines:
