The I Will Complete College (IWCC) and Citrus College Promise (Promise) programs have merged into one program under the name of “Citrus College Promise”. As both IWCC and Promise programs serve the same population out of the same office, and students and employees have come refer to both programs at the Promise program, the merger clarifies the requirements, benefits, and identity of the program.
The IWCC program began assisting first-time college students in achieving their academic goals in fall 2015. The program introduced completion specialists to Citrus College, a new staff classification specific for providing student follow-up support for students. The IWCC program grew from serving 364 new students in fall 2015 to serving 1,052 students in fall 2022. The Promise program began in fall 2018 and provided financial support and additional program requirements. The Promise program helped increase the numbers of students who joined both programs, helping to scale up the percentage of all first-year students who participate in the program to 48% of all first-time college students that enroll at Citrus College.
The merged Citrus College Promise program will continue delivering support services to students which include: financial aid assistance, priority registration, registration assistance, and personalized follow-up.
