Requirements:
- The student must be currently enrolled to receive externally administered credit for prior learning.
- A student must have met with a counselor prior to requesting credit for prior learning.
- A student may be granted no more than 30 units through any combination of credit for prior learning (AP, CLEP, IB or local examinations) and evaluation of military service or other non-classroom experiences.
- Official test scores and/or transcripts must be on file with Admissions and Records.
Advanced Placement (AP)
Citrus College will grant three to six (3-6) units of area or elective credit for an examination score of three, four or five (3, 4 or 5) in subjects of the Advanced Placement program of the College Entrance Examination Board.
- Although a score of 3 is acceptable at Citrus College for the Citrus College AA/AS degrees, that score may not be acceptable at the university level. Please be sure to contact the university to which you plan to transfer for their policies on AP scores.
- Once AP credit has been posted to your Citrus College transcript, it cannot be removed and you will not be permitted to take the applicable course at Citrus College.
- Archived Scores - If your most recent AP Exam was over four years ago, you will need to submit an AP Archived Score Request Form to the College Board. The college program code for Citrus College is 4051.

College Level Examination Program (CLEP)
Citrus College will grant up to six (6) units of area, subject, or elective credit for a score of 50 or above in a General Examination of the College Level Examination Program of the College Entrance Examination Board.

International Baccalaureate (IB)
Citrus College will grant three to four (3-4) units of area or elective credit for an examination score of five, six or seven (5, 6 or 7) in the subjects of the International Baccalaureate Higher Level exams. Subject credit rather than elective credit may be granted upon recommendation of the department.
- The student must be currently enrolled to receive credit for International Baccalaureate Exams.
- Citrus College will grant three to four (3-4) units of area or elective credit for an examination score of five, six or seven (5, 6 or 7), in the subjects of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Higher Level (HL) exams. Subject credit rather than elective credit may be granted upon recommendation of the department.
- Students must turn in the official International Baccalaureate exam results to Admissions and Records.

Industry Recognized Credentials
Citrus College will grant credit for industry recognized credential(s) that have been evaluated and approved by subject faculty and that are listed in the Industry Recognized Credentials section of the College Catalog.
If an industry recognized credential has not yet been evaluated and approved by subject faculty, the student should contact the division dean in charge of that discipline and request a review. The dean shall assign a faculty as the “faculty designee” and arrange for the student and faculty designee to meet to receive further instructions. The student shall submit all industry recognized credential documents to the faculty designee for assessment of prior learning. If the faculty designee determines the industry certification adequately measures mastery of the course content as set forth in the Course Outline of Record, the faculty designee will notify the academic dean, Articulation Officer, and the Admissions and Records program so that the industry recognized credential may be added to approved list on the catalog and to this petition.
The student must be currently enrolled to receive credit for Industry Recognized Credentials.

Military Credit/Joint Service Transcripts (JST)
Students shall receive credit as recommended by the American Council on Education (ACE) Directory and approved by the appropriate discipline faculty. Student will need to meet with the Veteran counselor to request credit.
Official transcripts must be on file with Admissions and Records, which may include:
- Joint Services Transcript (JST),
- Sailor/Marine American Council on Education Registry Transcript (SMART),
- Army and American Council on Education Registry Transcript Service (AARTS),
- Community College of the Air Force (CCAF),
- Coast Guard Institute (CGI),
- DANTES/USAFI, Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC),
- Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) Examinee Results, or
- Verified copies of DD214 or DD295 military records (students who provide a DD214 receive 4 KIN units).
Students who have not already sent their JST to Citrus College, will be asked to upload a copy of their JST. Students who do not currently have a copy of their JST may request one here: https://jst.doded.mil/jst. On the website they may also request that a free official JST be sent directly to Citrus College.
The student must be currently enrolled to receive credit for Military Credit/Joint Service Transcripts (JST).

Students must meet with a veteran counselor to review their JST and submit a request for military credit. Students can schedule an appointment with the veteran counselor using the following link: http://cca.citruscollege.edu/esars/Veterans45Appt/eSARS.asp?WCI=Init&WCE=Settings. Students must bring a copy of their JST to their counseling appointment.
Students who only request Military Credit for KIN/PE need to provide a copy of their DD214 to the Veteran Success Center (VSC).
