The Citrus College Noncredit Department offers beginning, intermediate and advanced levels of ESL classes to help non-English and limited English-speaking students develop their English skills. It is possible to begin English instruction with noncredit ESL and then enroll in credit ESL. To register for noncredit ESL classes, please visit the Lifelong Learning Center or call (626) 852-8022.
The noncredit English as a second language (ESL) program at Citrus College offers a comprehensive, tuition-free English language program with a core course sequence of five language levels: beginning 1, beginning 2, intermediate 1, intermediate 2, and advanced. Students may enter or leave our program at any time, can attend classes as fits their schedule, and do not pay to attend (students are expected to buy a textbook and, if driving, a parking permit).
The Citrus College credit English as a Second language (ESL) program serves international and non-international or resident ESL students. Non-international ESL students are those students whose primary language at home is other than English and who require additional English language support to develop reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. The credit ESL program is run in an immersive, fast-track manner encompassing eight-week modules to allow students to attain transfer-level English within less than three years of enrollment
