If you have exceptional educationally related expenses, you may appeal to increase your cost of attendance (COA). Increasing your cost of attendance may increase your or your parent's eligibility for federal or private loans or allow outside resources to be received, without reducing existing financial aid awards.
Common scenarios that may qualify for an increased Cost of Attendance:
-
Child care expenses
-
Significant medical/dental expenses paid by the student during the academic year
-
Special course expenses/fees
-
Educationally related computer or equipment expenses
-
Disability expense
-
Study abroad program travel expenses
-
Other educationally related expenses
How to Appeal
You may appeal by doing the following:
-
Contact the Financial Aid Department using the Financial Aid Request Form to speak with a Financial Aid Technician. Please be prepared to describe your situation in detail.
-
As each case is unique, the Financial Aid Technician will guide you through the process, including any additional documentation.
-
If it is determined that your exceptional educationally related expenses may qualify you for a Cost of Attendance Adjustment, the Financial Aid Technician will assign you a Cost of Attendance Appeal which can be completed online at citruscollege.studentforms.com.
