- Does the Promise program provide benefits in winter or summer sessions?
-
- Enrollment in summer and winter sessions is recommended for students, but the program does not cover fees for those two sessions.
-
- Can I defer entrance into the Citrus College Promise program.
-
- Yes, as long as you are a first-time college student.
-
- If I am registered with DSPS and my accommodations say I can only take six (6) units per term, can I still participate in the Promise program?
-
- Students must submit a Reduced Course Load (RCL) Form during fall/spring semesters to the Promise program in order to be exempt from the unit requirement. Also, the requirement that students complete 30 units before the start of the second year will be waived. However, the length of the program's duration is only for two years and will not be extended.
-
- If my GPA drops below 2.00 before the start of my second semester in the program, am I automatically out of the program or is there a probation period?
-
- Students may utilize winter and summer terms to bring their GPA back to the minimum required for the next semester.
-
- For year two requirements, it states I will need to complete 30 units prior to fall term. Since I will be taking 12 units in the fall and spring (24 units total), does that mean I will need to take summer or winter courses in order to complete the 30 units?
-
-
A student can use winter and summer to ensure they complete 30 units before the start of fall of the second year or can take 15 units in fall and spring, or any combination that will allow them to accrue 30 units prior to fall of year two.

-
- Am I eligible to re-enter the program if I only attend part-time my first semester but then decide to attend full-time thereafter?
-
- Yes, based on availability of spots, students may be allowed to skip a term. However, students cannot extent the timeframe of the program. Only a student's first two years, fall and spring semesters, are counted toward the program. Students who receive accommodation through DSPS for less than 12 units can continue to participate in the program. However, the length of the program's duration is only for two years.

- If I believe my family makes too much money to qualify for financial aid, must I still apply for financial aid?
- Yes, applying for financial aid is required to participate in the program, regardless of the student's financial need. You will still be eligible for Promise funding even if your application for financial aid indicates you do not qualify for state or federal aid.
