What is the CCPG?
The California College Promise Grant waives your enrollment fees ($46/unit fee) and entitles you to a discount on your parking for the fall and spring semesters; it also discounts your health fee for all terms for which you qualify. For more information on fee amounts, please view the fees and tuition section of the Citrus College website. Please note: any unused portion of this grant will not be refunded to you as it only waives specific charges on your Citrus College student account.
How do I apply for the CCPG?
Complete your financial aid application for the appropriate aid year. You may complete either the FAFSA application at studentaid.gov or the California Dream Act application at dream.csac.ca.gov. Be sure to include Citrus College's school code (001166), so Citrus College can receive your application.
Once you have completed a FAFSA or California Dream Act Application, you have already applied for the California College Promise Grant. No further action is needed!

More about CCPG
CCPG is Simple and Fast
State law requires that students attending California community colleges pay a fee per unit to enroll in credit classes; however, the California Community Colleges are offering the California College Promise Grant (CCPG) to pay the enrollment fee for all eligible applicants, because the Board of Governors believes the enrollment fee should never stand between you and a better future. Please note, that the CCPG does not pay for your books, so plan to purchase your own books and supplies.
The California College Promise Grant program is designed for speed and efficiency:
- CCPG is a waiver program and does not require repayment.
- CCPG is not tied to any other financial aid programs, so it can be processed quickly and you will be able to register immediately.
- Once completed, applicants will receive an email confirmation and an additional email eligibility notification within 72 hours.
- CCPG applicants do not have to be enrolled in a specific number of courses. Whether you take one unit or 15 units, CCPG will pay the enrollment fee and will waive a portion of the health fee.
- CCPG pays the enrollment fee and waives a portion of the health fee for the academic year and summer sessions. All other miscellaneous fees must be paid by the student at the time of registration.

Academic and Progress Standards
If any information changes on your financial aid application, you may no longer be eligible for the California College Promise Grant and will be required to pay your fees. You must also meet the academic standards to maintain your CCPG. If you do not meet the academic and/or progress standards for two consecutive terms, you will lose your California College Promise Grant. The academic and/or progress standards are as follows:
- Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA
- Complete more than 50% of your attempted coursework (units)
Foster youth ages 24 years and younger and students who qualify for the CCPG based on one of the special classifications are not subject to loss of the fee waiver under these regulations.
Regaining CCPG Eligibility
If you lose CCPG eligibility, you can regain eligibility by meeting one of the following criteria:
- meeting academic and progress standards,
- sitting out for two consecutive primary terms (summer and winter intersessions do not count), or
- successfully appeal the loss.
CCPG Appeal
The appeal process is available for students who have extenuating circumstances.
To appeal the loss of CCPG, students must schedule an appointment with a counselor to complete the form/process.
