Cal Grant Deadlines
March 2 and September 2, if attending a California Community College, are the deadlines each year to apply for the Cal Grant.
Financial Aid Application Deadline
To apply, you need to complete either the FAFSA application at studentaid.gov or California Dream Act application at dream.csac.ca.gov. Be sure to include Citrus College's school code (001166), so Citrus College can receive your application.
Cal Grant GPA Verification
If you are currently attending Citrus College, the Financial Aid Department will submit your GPA electronically if you have the following:
- You have at least 16 cumulative degree applicable or transfer units completed and posted on your Citrus College academic transcript. "In progress" courses do not count.
- You have provided your high school graduation date and your Social Security number (SSN) to the admissions and records program. Please note that AB 540 students must complete a California Dream Act application and are not required to have a Social Security number (SSN).
Federal Pell Grant Freeze and Recalculation Dates
Summer 2023: July 24, 2023
Fall 2023: November 6, 2023
Spring 2024: May 6, 2024
Summer 2024: July 22, 2024
Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Appeal Submission Deadline
You must submit a completed SAP appeal with all required documents 10 days prior to the last date of the term, in which you wish to be considered for financial aid eligibility. SAP appeals submitted less than 10 days prior to the end of the term may be considered on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed.
Please note the following important deadlines for verification depending on the scenarios below:
Withdrawal Date: In order to complete the verification process, you must submit all the required documentation and forms before you withdraw from your last enrolled term or before the day you withdraw from all courses for a term. This deadline ensures that your financial aid eligibility can be accurately determined before your withdrawal.
Summer 2024 Enrollment: If you are enrolled in courses for the summer 2024 term, the verification deadline is July 31 of the current financial aid award year. It is crucial to submit all the necessary documents and forms by this date to ensure that your financial aid for the summer term can be properly processed and disbursed.
For Federal Pell Grant eligibility, you may have 120 days to submit your verification documents after you withdraw, or July 31. Whichever comes first. Contact the financial aid department for more details.
We strongly recommend submitting your verification materials well in advance of these deadlines to allow sufficient time for review and processing. Failure to meet these deadlines may result in delays or even ineligibility for financial aid benefits.
