Apply for Financial Aid in Three Steps
You can get money for college in different ways, such as through grants, scholarships, work-study, and student loans. To apply for financial aid, you need to follow three steps:
STEP 1
Fill out a financial aid application for the academic year you plan to attend Citrus College. You can choose to fill out either the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act Application (CADAA).
Not sure which financial aid application you can submit? Check out this article: Which Financial Aid Application Do I Complete?
Don't forget to include Citrus College's school code (001166 or 00116600) so we can view and process your application.
Complete a financial aid application based on the term(s) you plan to enroll:
-
2024-2025 Financial Aid Application if enrolling in fall 2024, spring 2025, and/or summer 2025
- The deadline to submit is June 30, 2025, or before withdrawing from the college (dropping/withdrawing from all classes in a term), whichever comes first.
- First time filling it out? Visit studentaid.gov/fafsa-apply/2024-25 to complete a FAFSA
- To edit an existing FAFSA application, visit studentaid.gov/status-center/cases-and-applications/view-applications
-
2025-2026 Financial Aid Application if enrolling in fall 2025, spring 2026, and/or summer 2026
- The deadline to submit is June 30, 2026, or before withdrawing from the college (dropping/withdrawing from all classes in a term), whichever comes first.
-
California’s financial aid priority deadline for the 2025-26 academic year is March 3, 2025*.
Students attending California Community Colleges for the 2025-26 academic year should apply by March 3, 2025, and no later than September 2, 2025.
*CSAC Priority Deadline for La County and Ventura County High School Students has been postponed until April 2, 2025.
STEP 2
Check your Citrus College email for requests for more information. It may take up to 10 business days to process your application. If you're applying for aid for the next school year, you can expect to receive emails as early as April.
STEP 3
Check your Financial Aid Dashboard to see if there are any tasks you need to complete. You can submit most of the required information online at citruscollege.studentforms.com. Once you've submitted everything, the financial aid department will review your application and make any necessary changes. This usually takes around 10-15 business days.
Offer of Financial Aid Notification
After your financial aid application is complete, you'll receive an email telling you how much money you're eligible to receive titled "Offer of Financial Aid". Your awards are based on full-time attendance (12 or more units each fall and spring term). If you take fewer units, your disbursements will be adjusted accordingly.
