Special circumstances are financial situations such as the loss of a job, natural disasters, high medical bills, etc. that may allow a Citrus College Financial Aid Administrator to adjust data elements in the COA or in the EFC/SAI calculation for you. What is an unusual circumstance?
An unusual circumstance is a unique situation such as human trafficking, refugee or asylee status, parental abandonment, or incarceration that justifies the Citrus College Financial Aid Administrator to make an adjustment to your dependency status, which is commonly known as a dependency override. Can I have both circumstances?
Yes, you may have both a special circumstance and an unusual circumstance. Please submit a request online using the Financial Aid Request Form to request advice regarding your specific circumstances and to determine which appeal(s) you may be eligible to complete.
